Apple TV+ has revealed the first look at the upcoming crime drama series Smoke, starring and executive produced by Taron Egerton.
The series is created by acclaimed writer Dennis Lehane. Inspired by true events, the story follows a troubled detective and a mysterious arson investigator as they hunt down two serial arsonists.

Smoke is inspired by truth.media’s hit podcast Firebug, hosted by Academy Award and Emmy Award winner Kary Antholis. Egerton plays arson investigator Dave Gudsen, while Emmy-nominated Jurnee Smollett stars as police detective Michelle Calderone.

The ensemble cast also includes Greg Kinnear, Rafe Spall, Ntare Guma Mbaho Mwine, Hannah Emily Anderson, Anna Chlumsky, Adina Porter, and John Leguizamo.
The series is directed by Kari Skogland, Joe Chappelle, and Jim McKay, and is produced by Apple Studios. Egerton serves as an executive producer alongside Richard Plepler (EDEN Productions), Bradley Thomas and Dan Friedkin (Imperative Entertainment), Kari Skogland, Joe Chappelle, and Jane Bartelme. Kary Antholis also serves as an executive producer for Crime Story Media, with Marc Smerling producing for Truth Podcasting Corp.
Smoke will premiere globally on June 27, 2025, with a total of nine episodes. The first two episodes will debut on premiere day, followed by new episodes every Friday through August 8, 2025.
