A new Avatar: The Last Airbender sequel series, Avatar: Seven Havens, is in the works at Nickelodeon and Avatar Studios. The show will have 26 episodes over two seasons and follows Earthbending twins after a big disaster—when one learns she is the new Avatar after Korra.
In an official press release, Nickelodeon revealed that Seven Havens will be set in a world ‘shattered by a devastating cataclysm.’ A young Earthbender discovers she is the new Avatar after Korra—but in this dangerous era, that title marks her as humanity’s destroyer, not its savior. Hunted by both human and spirit enemies, she and her long-lost twin must uncover their mysterious origins and save the Seven Havens before civilization’s last strongholds collapse.

During Avatar’s 20th-anniversary celebration, Avatar: The Last Airbender creators Michael DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko revealed, “Avatar: Seven Havens will be a 26-episode, 2D animated series following a young Earthbender who becomes the next Avatar after Korra.”
In a statement, Konietzko and DiMartino said, “When we created the original series, we never imagined we’d still be expanding the world decades later. This new incarnation of the Avatarverse is full of fantasy, mystery, and a whole new cast of amazing characters.”
Avatar: Seven Havens will have two seasons, each with 13 episodes—Book 1 and Book 2. Konietzko and DiMartino are creating the series with executive producers Ethan Spaulding and Sehaj Sethi. The cast has not been announced yet.
The series is being produced under the Avatar Studios banner at Nickelodeon Animation in Burbank.
This is the first main TV series from Avatar Studios, which is also making a full-length animated movie about Aang. The film will be released in theaters on January 30, 2026, and will follow adult Aang on a new adventure.
