A new concept art and new details from Marvel’s Avengers: Doomsday reveal that Namor is unleashing his full power and using his underwater kingdom of Talokan in battle.
According to insider James Mack, who previously leaked major plot details and costume designs for Avengers: Doomsday, he has reviewed some previs and 3D techvis tests for the film, which show Namor in battle amid a massive tsunami, seemingly the one causing it. The concept also includes a giant octopus and his Talokan army.
Also, a female warrior in the army is named Andromeda. There is also a very muscular warrior with fins who resembles Orka.
It is confirmed that in Avengers: Doomsday, Namor wears black Atlantean-style armor with a scaly texture on the shoulders and arms, leaving his chest exposed. He is wearing blue pants and holding his trident. The design is inspired by Namor’s look in Avengers vs. X-Men (2012, issues #7–12) and New Avengers (Jonathan Hickman’s run, 2013–2015) from Marvel Comics.
In an interview with La Resolana, Tenoch Huerta revealed that each character will have “smaller roles” in Avengers: Doomsday.
He said, “The whole thing has been a bit different because there are about twenty-something characters involved in the story. It’s more condensed since they have to make room for all the characters and the different universes that appear.”
Also, in an interview, Huerta talked about meeting Robert Downey Jr. on the set of Avengers: Doomsday.
“He’s really handsome, dude. The guy looks really young too. What happened was that I wasn’t in the scene — I went to see the directors because I wanted to talk to them about some lines and meet them face to face.
When I was there, he came over to check the monitors, and I said, ‘Ah, no way!’ I actually said, ‘Damn, I left my kneepads back at the hotel, man!’”
There are rumors that the first trailer for Avengers: Doomsday is expected to be released in theaters alongside Avatar: Fire and Ash on December 18, 2025.
Directed by the Russo brothers from a screenplay by their longtime collaborator Stephen McFeely and Michael Waldron. The film features cinematography by Newton Thomas Sigel (Bohemian Rhapsody, X-Men: Days of Future Past) and production design by Kasra Farahani.
