Netflix has unveiled the new teaser and release date for ‘Berlin,’ the spinoff series from Money Heist. The series will premiere on December 29, 2023, on Netflix. Watch the teaser trailer below.
Behind Berlin’s Heists: Exploring the Money Heist Spin-Off
This spin-off, created by Money Heist’s Álex Pina and Esther Martínez Lobato, focuses on the character Berlin (Pedro Alonso) during his prime, long before his terminal diagnosis, and the Royal Mint of Spain heist. In Berlin, we witness one of his most extraordinary heists.
According to Netflix’s logline,
Back to his golden age before the events of ‘Money Heist,’ Berlin and a masterful gang gather in Paris to plan one of his most ambitious robberies ever.
In Money Heist, strangers with city nicknames join forces for a Royal Mint heist led by Berlin, played by Alonso. The spinoff Berlin explores his earlier life.
Berlin believes love and big paydays can make any day great. He plans a $44 million jewel heist with the help of Begoña Vargas as Cameron, Michelle Jenner as Keila, Julio Peña as Roi, Tristán Ulloa as Damián, Joel Sánchez as Bruce, Itziar Ituño as Raquel Murillo, and Najwa Nimri as Alicia Sierra.
In a statement, Pina said, “It’s a trip through the golden age of the character when he robbed around Europe crazy in love.” Pina added, Essentially, it’s a series full of white-collar crimes, tension, travel, romance, and, most interestingly, humor. “That’s the most surprising, the comedy. You’re going to make people laugh a lot.”
‘Berlin’ is set to premiere on Netflix on December 29, 2023.
