Christian Bale and Jessie Buckley were spotted in monster costumes on the set of Maggie Gyllenhaal‘s ‘The Bride!‘ on April 29, 2024, in New York City.
In the film, Bale plays Dr. Frankenstein’s Monster. He looks grungy in images, wearing a boxy pin-striped suit. His eyes resemble the style seen in American Psycho. Buckley also appears spooky, wearing a blood orange satin dress with a daringly high split up her leg. Her face has some wounds.

The film’s logline follows: “A lonely Frankenstein travels to 1930s Chicago to seek the aide of Dr. Euphronius in creating a companion for himself. The two reinvigorate a murdered young woman, and the bride is born. She is beyond what either of them intended, igniting a combustible romance, the attention of the police, and a wild and radical social movement.”
Filming began in March 2024. It also stars Penélope Cruz, Peter Sarsgaard, and Annette Bening. ‘The Bride’ is produced by Talia Kleinhendler and Emma Tillinger Koskoff and distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures.
‘The Bride of Frankenstein’ (1935) is a classic horror film directed by James Whale, serving as a sequel to the 1931 ‘Frankenstein’. Dr. Henry Frankenstein, played by Colin Clive, survives the events of the first film. Coerced by the sinister Dr. Pretorius (Ernest Thesiger), Dr. Frankenstein is compelled to create a mate for his monster, portrayed by Boris Karloff. The iconic Elsa Lanchester plays the Bride of Frankenstein, contributing to the film’s status as one of the greatest horror movies of all time.
