The first trailer for the hybrid animated movie Coyote vs. Acme has leaked online. It was screened during the 2025 San Diego Comic-Con.
On X, a user shared the 1-minute trailer featuring Will Forte and John Cena. Watch it below.
Here are the plot details for Coyote vs. Acme:
After years of malfunctioning products from the ACME Corporation ruining his attempts to catch the Road Runner, Wile E. Coyote hires a down-on-his-luck human attorney to sue the company. When the lawyer realizes that his intimidating former boss is representing ACME, he and Wile E. form an unlikely friendship and team up to win the court case.

Directed by Dave Green, Coyote vs. Acme is based on a screenplay by Samy Burch from a story by Burch, James Gunn, and Jeremy Slater. It is inspired by the 1990 New Yorker article “Coyote v. Acme” by Ian Frazier, which itself draws from the Looney Tunes character Wile E. Coyote and the Acme Corporation.
The film stars Forte as Kevin Avery, Wile E. Coyote’s lawyer; Cena as Buddy Crane, the Acme Corporation’s lawyer; Lana Condor as Paige Avery, Kevin’s niece; P. J. Byrne as Bill Pellicano, an Acme lawyer; Tone Bell as Tyrone Maltese; Martha Kelly as Dottie Jones; Luis Guzmán as the judge; and Eric Bauza, who voices several Looney Tunes and Merrie Melodies characters.
Although Warner Bros. Discovery initially shelved the film as a tax write-off in 2023, it was later acquired by Ketchup Entertainment for worldwide rights, with the deal valued at approximately $50 million.
In a statement, Gareth West, CEO of Ketchup Entertainment, said: “We’re thrilled to have made a deal with Warner Bros. Pictures to bring this film to audiences worldwide. Coyote vs. Acme is a perfect blend of nostalgia and modern storytelling, capturing the essence of the beloved Looney Tunes characters while introducing them to a new generation. We believe it will resonate with both longtime fans and newcomers alike.”
At the SDCC panel, Forte praised Wile as “a character that never gives up,” but added, “The real hero of this movie is all of you guys sitting in those seats. Like Wile E. Coyote, you were underdogs who fought against a major corporation, and because you never gave up, this movie is now going to be released globally.”
Coyote vs. Acme will hit theaters in the United States on August 28, 2026.
