The upcoming DC series ‘Booster Gold‘ is scheduled to begin filming on July 8, 2024, in Los Angeles, CA, United States, as confirmed by Production List.
The show, based on the DC Comics superhero of the same name, will be an installment of Chapter One: Gods and Monsters in the DC Universe, produced by DC Studios.
Who is Booster Gold in DC Comics?
In DC Comics. Michael Carter, better known as Booster Gold, was created by writer Dan Jurgens and first appeared in “Booster Gold” #1 in 1986. He is a 25th-century guy named Michael Jon Carter who, feeling frustrated with his life, swipes some cool gadgets from a museum and heads back to the 20th century. There, he becomes a superhero called Booster Gold, hoping to hit it big.
Booster Gold gets his powers from his suit, which gives him super strength, lets him fly, shoot energy blasts, and create force fields. Plus, he can time travel.
As of now, the actor to portray Michael Carter/Booster Gold has not been revealed by DC Studios. There are reports that Chris Pratt may have a secret role in the DCU, but no confirmation yet. Stay tuned for updates!
According to DC Studios co-CEO James Gunn in a statement, “Booster Gold is one of comics’ really popular cult heroes, he’s a fascinating guy, he’s a loser from the future who uses future technology to come back to the present day and become a superhero so that people will love him. It is basically a superhero story of impostor syndrome in an HBO Max series.”
Recently, Gunn announced that filming for ‘Peacemaker‘ Season 2 has begun, with John Cena returning as the title character.
‘Booster Gold’ is produced by DC Studios’ Gunn and Peter Safran and is set for release on Max in 2026.
