‘Death of a Unicorn’ VOD Release Date Revealed

The VOD release date for Death of a Unicorn has been revealed. The film will be available to buy or rent on digital HD platforms, including Amazon Prime Video, iTunes, Vudu, and Google Play Movies & TV, starting April 29, 2025.

Written and directed by Alex Scharfman, the film follows Elliot Kintner (Paul Rudd) and Ridley Kintner (Jenna Ortega), a father and daughter who accidentally hit and kill a unicorn, leading them to be hunted down by its parents.

Here’s the plot details for Death of a Unicorn:

A father (Rudd) and daughter (Ortega) accidentally hit and kill a unicorn while en route to a weekend retreat, where his billionaire boss (Richard E. Grant) seeks to exploit the creature’s miraculous curative properties, but with deadly consequences.

The film also stars Richard E. Grant as Odell Leopold, Elliot’s boss, alongside Will Poulter as his son, Shepard, and Téa Leoni as his wife, Belinda. Anthony Carrigan plays Griff, the Leopolds’ butler, while Jessica Hynes portrays Shaw, their personal assistant. Sunita Mani and Steve Park star as Dr. Bhatia and Dr. Song, two scientists.

Death of a Unicorn was theatrically released in the United States by A24 on March 28, 2025.
