Marvel’s ‘Thor 5‘ is already planned with Chris Hemsworth, and director Taika Waititi, who directed ‘Thor: Ragnarok‘ and ‘Thor: Love and Thunder,’ has revealed that the upcoming villain will be even stronger than Hela.

In the upcoming ‘Thor: Love and Thunder’ movie special book from Titan, set to release on September 19, 2023, Waititi talks about Thor’s future in the MCU. He suggests that Thor’s next adventure should continue his character development by presenting challenges that build upon his past struggles. One of these challenges, as Waititi mentions, could be a villain even stronger than Hela.

Waititi thinks Thor’s special qualities make space adventures more fun with him than with human MCU characters. He mentions Thor’s confident attitude when meeting aliens and exploring new worlds. If he directs Thor 5, fans can expect Thor to visit colorful places, fight unusual villains, and face a stronger enemy than Hela, making the movie extra special.

Waititi said, “What is left to do to him? It’s got to be something that feels like it’s carrying on with the evolution of the character, but still in a very fun way and still giving him things to come up against that feel like they’re building on the obstacles that he has to overcome. I don’t think we can have a villain that’s weaker than Hela. I feel like we need to step up from there and add a villain that’s somehow more formidable”

He added, “So, there’s a fun element to him, and he has a casualness and a sort or swagger about him when he visits these worlds and encounters these aliens that I don’t think you’d get when it’s an earthling traveling through space exploring the universe.”

During an interview with Insider, Waititi revealed that he would definitely do one. He said, “Now, I don’t know what would be next. I would definitely do one, but only if Chris did it.” Thor 5 will be a part of the MCU’s Phase 7, and the film may release in 2027 or 2028. The film will be a sequel to Thor: Love and Thunder (2022). A new villain for Thor 5 was teased in Love and Thunder, which is Zeus’ (played by Russell Crowe) son Hercules (played by Brett Goldstein). In the middle of the credits in Love and Thunder, Zeus asks Hercules to kill Thor. Read more details about Thor 5.
