Walt Disney Animation recently removed the release date of the ‘Tiana‘ Disney+ series from their site. It originally said 2023, then it was changed to 2024, and now it says “soon.” The project was announced in 2020 during a Disney Investor Day.
At a recent Disney event on June 10, 2024, Walt Disney Studios mentioned the upcoming ‘Tiana’ series. The company said the show will continue Princess Tiana’s story after the events of the ‘Tiana’s Bayou Adventure‘ attraction, which takes place a year after the film, as confirmed by MousePlanet.
How unexpected that this is the first time the show has officially been mentioned in a long time by Disney. No release timeframe was shared, but we can confirm that the release date may be in 2025.
The animated series will continue Tiana’s story after the new attraction, which takes place a year after the original film. Joyce Sherri serves as the show’s lead writer and director. The official description for “Tiana” states that the show will follow the title character as she “sets off for a grand new adventure as the newly crowned Princess of Maldonia – but a calling to her New Orleans past isn’t far behind.”
Produced by Walt Disney Animation Studios, Nathan Curtis will produce, with Jennifer Lee and Stella Meghie executive producing. Meghie was previously attached as the writer and director of the series but remains on board as an EP.
Also, Walt Disney World officially revealed the opening date of ‘Tiana’s Bayou Adventure’ on June 28, 2024, located in Frontierland at Magic Kingdom Park.
