Exclusive: Delroy Lindo will play Deacon Frost in Marvel’s ‘Blade‘ movie, with filming set to begin in June in Atlanta. The movie is scheduled to hit theaters on September 6, 2024.
According to the Marvel comics, Deacon Frost infected Blade while he was still in the womb by feeding on his mother, giving him half-human, half-vampire hybrid powers.
Deacon Frost is a vampire scientist and enemy of Blade. In Marvel Comics, Deacon Frost is a vampire and an enemy of Blade, the vampire hunter. Frost was originally a scientist who became a vampire after experimenting with vampire blood. He has superhuman strength, agility, and endurance and is immune to most physical damage. Frost is a skilled fighter and also possesses the ability to turn others into vampires.
Blade, directed by Yann Demange and written by Michael Starrbury, stars Mahershala Ali in the titular role. Ali reprises his role as Eric Brooks/Blade from the previous Blade films. The cast also includes Delroy Lindo, Aaron Pierre, Mia Goth, and Milan Ray.
In Marvel comics, Blade, a.k.a. Eric Brooks first appeared in Tomb of Dracula #10 in 1973 and was created by writer Marv Wolfman and artist Gene Colan.
The film is a reboot of the franchise and the 36th film in the MCU. Produced by Kevin Feige, Eric Hauserman Carroll, Louis D’Esposito, and Bassam Tariq.
‘Blade’ will hit theaters on September 6, 2024.
