James Gunn has shared the first look at David Corenswet‘s Superman suit from the upcoming DC ‘Superman’ movie. The debate over Superman’s trunks, which fans have been asking about, is settled as they return to the silver screen after 18 years.
On Instagram, Gunn shared the first look of ‘Superman’ and wrote, “Get ready. Superman, 7.11.25.” See the image below.
In the image, we can see the Man of Steel in the updated “Superman” suit. The UFO and enigmatic light behind hint at imminent challenges, notably, it must be Brainiac.
The film stars Corenswet as Clark Kent/Superman, Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane, Nicholas Hoult as Lex Luthor, Milly Alcock as Kara Zor-El/Supergirl, Sara Sampaio as Eve Teschmacher, Skyler Gisondo as Jimmy Olsen, Edi Gathegi as Michael Holt/Mr. Terrific, Gabriela De Faría as The Engineer, Nathan Fillion as Guy Gardner/Green Lantern, Isabela Merced as Hawkgirl, and Anthony Carrigan as Metamorpho.
The filming is currently underway in Atlanta, Georgia. Gunn confirmed that he respects old Superman movies and that the script he made was definitely a sincere superhero movie. The film will be the DC Universe’s first film and the third installment of Chapter One: Gods and Monsters, created by Gunn and Peter Safran. Recently, Gunn confirmed ‘Superman’ will be shot entirely in IMAX.
The updated logline for ‘Superman’ reveals that Superman, now a cub reporter in Metropolis, sets out on a journey to reconcile his Kryptonian heritage with his human upbringing as Clark Kent.
‘Superman’ will hit theaters on July 11, 2025.
