The first look at Nicolas Cage on the set of Amazon’s Spider-Noir series has been revealed. The leaked images were shared by Just Jared, with filming taking place in Los Angeles.
They were filming a scene in which Cage’s Ben Reilly appeared to be knocked over by some force.
Oren Uziel (‘22 Jump Street’) and Steve Lightfoot (‘The Punisher’) serve as co-showrunners and executive producers for Spider-Noir. They developed the series with the “Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse” team of Phil Lord, Christopher Miller, and Amy Pascal, all of whom also executive produce. Harry Bradbeer will executive produce and direct the first two episodes, with Pascal executive producing via Pascal Pictures. The series is produced by Sony Pictures Television and Amazon MGM Studios, with Lord and Miller currently under an overall deal at Sony.
Here’s the official synopsis for Spider-Noir:
In Spider-Noir, “We follow Ben Reilly (Cage), a private investigator, as he stumbles down a rabbit hole of corruption in 1933 New York City, while also establishing his past as a superhero. Reilly investigates the death of Edward Addison, which leads him to discover that the Mayor is up to something nefarious that involves crime boss Silvermane and femme fatale Yuri Watanabe.”
Along with Cage, Brendan Gleeson will play the show’s villain, and Lamorne Morris, Li Jun Li, and Jack Huston are also part of the cast.

No one else could bring such pathos, pain, and heart to this singular character.” Pope added, “Along with our brilliant producers and partners at Amazon MGM Studios and Prime Video, we couldn’t ask for a better team to explore this reimagining of such an iconic character in Sony’s Universe of Marvel Characters.”
In a recent interview with The New Yorker, Cage said that the Spider-Noir will have “eight episodes” and be “more of a Pop-art mashup, like a Lichtenstein painting” with “some sparkle to it.” He added, “I don’t like violence. I don’t want to play people who are hurting people. One of the things that I like about this potential show is that it’s fantasy. It’s not really people beating people up. Monsters are involved.”
Spider-Noir will debut domestically on MGM+’s linear channel and then stream globally on Amazon Prime Video.
