The filming for Steven Spielberg’s new UFO movie, Disclosure, starring Emily Blunt and Wyatt Russell, has begun in New Jersey.
During production, behind-the-scenes images of Russell and Blunt were spotted in New Jersey on February 25, 2025. Blunt and Russell were seen “grasping each other’s hands and embracing” while “filming a smoky scene at a gas station.” See the images below.

The film is an original UFO story from Spielberg and David Koepp. It is set in the universe of Close Encounters of the Third Kind—Spielberg’s previous UFO-based film—and takes place in a post-disclosure world.

The film stars Russell (The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, Overlord), Blunt (Oppenheimer, A Quiet Place), Josh O’Connor (Challengers, The Crown), Colin Firth (The King’s Speech, Kingsman: The Secret Service), Eve Hewson (Flora and Son, Bad Sisters), and Colman Domingo (Rustin, Fear the Walking Dead).

In a recent interview with NJ Advance Media, Koepp said, “[Spielberg] wrote the story for this new thing that we’re about to start shooting.”
“He wrote the story and said, ‘What do you think of this?’” Koepp recalled. “And I said, ‘Great. What if you did this, this, and that?’ And, you know, then we went from there.”
The film is produced by Kristie Macosko Krieger and Steven Spielberg under Amblin Entertainment.
Disclosure will hit theaters in the United States on June 12, 2026, by Universal Pictures.
