Krysten Ritter is reportedly playing a human character named Captain Rockwell in ‘Sonic the Hedgehog 3,’ as confirmed by insider Daniel Richtman.
Previously, IGN reported that Ritter was rumored to voice Rouge the Bat, but it has now been confirmed as a false report.
Directed by Jeff Fowler from a screenplay by Pat Casey, Josh Miller, and John Whittington, the movie is based on the Sega video game series.
The film stars Ben Schwartz as Sonic the Hedgehog, Colleen O’Shaughnessey as Miles “Tails” Prower, and Idris Elba as Knuckles the Echidna. The live-action cast includes James Marsden as Tom Wachowski, Jim Carrey as Dr. Robotnik, Tika Sumpter as Maddie Wachowski, Tom Butler as Commander Walters, Lee Majdoub as Agent Stone, James Wolk, Sofia Pernas, Cristo Fernández, and Jorma Taccone. Shadow the Hedgehog is also set to make an appearance.
The first teaser trailer for ‘Sonic 3’ will be revealed soon, along with the film’s title tagline. The film serves as a sequel to ‘Sonic the Hedgehog’ (2020) and ‘Sonic the Hedgehog 2’ (2022), continuing the storyline introduced in ‘Knuckles’ (2024).
‘Sonic the Hedgehog 3’ hits theaters on December 20, 2024, by Paramount Pictures.
