The first look and new release date for ‘Snow White,’ starring Rachel Zegler and Gal Gadot, have been revealed. The film’s release has been pushed back by one year, now set for March 21, 2025, instead of the previously scheduled March 22, 2024. See the first look below.
Disney’s Bob Iger and fellow CEOs informed SAG-AFTRA this week that the deadline to rescue their 2024 movie schedules is quickly approaching. Studios are using this tactic to exert pressure on SAG-AFTRA to reach an agreement. ‘Snow White’ and ‘Elio’ have already seen their release dates postponed to 2025.
The film is directed by Marc Webb and produced by Marc Platt. The screenplay is written by Erin Cressida Wilson and Greta Gerwig.
‘Snow White’ is a live-action musical and fantasy adaptation of Walt Disney’s 1937 animated classic, “Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs,” originally inspired by the timeless fairy tale created by the Brothers Grimm.
The film stars Zegler in the role of Snow White, Gadot as The Evil Queen, Andrew Burnap as Jonathan, Martin Klebba as Grumpy, Colin Michael Carmichael in an unannounced role, Dujonna Gift as Maple, and Ansu Kabia as the Huntsman.
Recently, Paramount Pictures has halted production on ‘Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part Two‘ due to the ongoing SAG-AFTRA strike, and it won’t be ready for next summer. This challenge could affect many major film releases if the union and studios don’t reach an agreement soon. As part of this change, the ‘A Quiet Place: Day One‘ prequel, initially set for March 8, 2024, will now be released on June 28, 2024. Also, an untitled ‘SpongeBob SquarePants‘ animated adventure, originally scheduled for May 23, 2025, has been postponed to December 19, 2025.
