The first look at Cillian Murphy and Mia Threapleton on the set of Damien Chazelle’s upcoming untitled film has leaked while filming in Greece.
Filming began last week. During the Athens-based shoot, Murphy is seen wearing a muted green shirt tucked into high-waisted pants, giving him a period look, while Threapleton wears a light blue sweater. The story is described as being primarily set in a prison and focuses on a violent conflict between a prison guard and an inmate.

The film is written and directed by Chazelle, who will also produce alongside Olivia Hamilton under their Wild Chickens Productions banner. Paramount Pictures will distribute the film.

Here are the plot details for the movie:
Set in the 1940s, a prison warden (Daniel Craig) attempts to discipline a defiant inmate (Murphy) within a brutal correctional system. As tensions rise, their relationship evolves into a psychological duel. Williams portrays the warden’s wife, while Threapleton plays the inmate’s girlfriend.

Cast List:
- Daniel Craig
- Cillian Murphy

Filming is currently taking place in the basement of a former tobacco-processing factory in western Athens, which has been transformed into prison cells for the production. This phase of the shoot is expected to continue until May. Production will then move briefly, for a few weeks, to the greater Athens region and the northwestern island of Corfu.
According to World of Reel, the film will be having a “mid-budget.” Lol Crawley (“The Brutalist”) is serving as cinematographer, while Chazelle’s longtime collaborator Justin Hurwitz is composing the score.
The film hits theaters on 2027, by Paramount Pictures.
