The first look at Don Cheadle‘s Rhodey a.k.a. War Machine in Marvel Studios’ “Secret Invasion” has been revealed. The series will debut on Disney+ this spring. Check out the image below.
Secret Invasion is created for Disney+ by Kyle Bradstreet. The series follows how shapeshifting Skrulls have invaded all aspects of life on Earth. The main cast includes Samuel L. Jackson returning as Nick Fury, with Ben Mendelsohn as Talos, and Cobie Smulders, Kingsley Ben-Adir, Emilia Clarke, Olivia Colman, Martin Freeman, and Don Cheadle also appearing.
On Aug 13, Samuel L. Jackson confirmed that the reshoots for the Secret Invasion series have been wrapped.
During the D23 Fan Expo, Marvel Studios unveils upcoming releases, including interviews for Disney+’s Secret Invasion, in which Don Cheadle reveals his comeback to the series. He said, “We are dealing with a Skrull plot to take over the Earth to dominate the planet.”
Thomas Bezucha and Ali Selim will direct six episodes of “Secret Invasion.” The directors will either divide the episodes equally, or one will direct four and the other two. The series is a part of the MCU’s Phase 5.
During Marvel’s panel at San Diego Comic-Con, Cobie Smulders who plays the role of Maria Hill said “The Skrulls are here. They’re here, baby, and they want to stay. We got introduced to them in Captain Marvel, which was in the ’90s. And they’ve been sort of percolating into our planet and they’ve been taking human form, so we haven’t really known the magnitude of their presence. But we’re learning that in the series.”
Secret Invasion will premiere on Disney+ this spring.
