The Justice League has arrived in Cleveland on the set of James Gunn’s ‘Superman‘. Yeah! The first look at Nathan Fillion‘s Green Lantern, Isabela Merced‘s Hawkgirl, Edi Gathegi‘s Mr. Terrific, and David Corenswet‘s Superman is revealed for a high-flying scene in downtown Cleveland.
Fillion’s Gardner/Green Lantern looks cool in his Green Lantern jacket with completely blonde hair, while Merced’s Hawkgirl suit is comic-accurate — complete with her helmet and the Thanagarian Mace (Nth Metal weapon). So far, the costumes are not too heavy, but it’s nice to see.
According to DC Film News, Mister Terrific’s and Guy Gardner’s suits are sporting Maxwell Lord’s LordTech logo. This furthers the idea that Gunn is developing “JUSTICE LEAGUE INTERNATIONAL.”
James Gunn Responds to the ‘Superman’ Leaks Spoil the Movie
Recently, set images of Corenswet’s Superman holding something and possibly saving a puppy from an accident were leaked. Addressing these leaks, Gunn commented on Threads about whether the ‘Superman’ set leaks spoil the movie. He wrote, “Fully expected” and “Not even a little. I’d never shoot a big spoiler outside in the middle of the city.”
Gunn confirmed that he respects old Superman movies and that the script he made was definitely a sincere superhero movie. The film will be the DC Universe’s first film and the third installment of Chapter One: Gods and Monsters, created by Gunn and Peter Safran. The film is being shot entirely in IMAX.
The film stars Corenswet as Clark Kent/Superman, Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane, Nicholas Hoult as Lex Luthor, Milly Alcock as Kara Zor-El/Supergirl, Sara Sampaio as Eve Teschmacher, Skyler Gisondo as Jimmy Olsen, Gathegi as Michael Holt/Mr. Terrific, Gabriela De Faría as The Engineer, Fillion as Guy Gardner/Green Lantern, Merced as Hawkgirl, and Anthony Carrigan as Metamorpho.
The updated logline for ‘Superman’ reveals that Superman, now a cub reporter in Metropolis, sets out on a journey to reconcile his Kryptonian heritage with his human upbringing as Clark Kent.
Gunn’s ‘Superman’ will hit theaters on July 11, 2025.
