Netflix has officially announced the release date for the final season of Squid Game and has also released first-look images.
On X, Netflix shared a poster along with the release date and wrote, “Nothing can prepare you for the final season of Squid Game. Season 3 premieres June 27.” Check out the post below.
Squid Game Season 2, with seven episodes, was released on December 26. It was filmed together with Season 3, so fans won’t have to wait as long as they did between Seasons 1 and 2. Creator Hwang Dong-hyuk first planned for Season 2 to be the last, but since there were too many episodes, Netflix decided to split it into Season 3.
In Season 2, three years after winning the Squid Game, Player 456 chooses not to go to the United States and returns with a new goal. Gi-hun re-enters the deadly survival game, facing another life-or-death challenge alongside new participants, all competing for the 45.6 billion won prize. Season 3 continues the story and brings the deadly game to an end.
