The Boys and The Mandalorian star Giancarlo Esposito confirmed that he met with Marvel Studios and told a fan that he was willing to play Professor X in the upcoming MCU projects. First, he mentions Magneto, Professor X, Doctor Freeze, and Doctor Doom but at last, revealed he wants to play Professor X.
Giancarlo Esposito is actively playing Moff Gideon in the Disney+ series The Mandalorian. Season 1 and Season 2 have been aired and is currently available on Disney+. Esposito will also appear in season 3, which premiered in February 2023. Season 4 is in development.

On August 5, Giancarlo Esposito appeared on the TJH Superhero Car Show & Comic Con in San Antonio, Texas. Speaking to a Tik Tok user @countdowncitygeeks, Esposito revealed that he was in talks with Marvel Studios for a role. He mentions Magneto, Professor X, Doctor Freeze, and Doctor Doom but says he wants to play Professor X.
Esposito told “So, I have not worked for Marvel yet. I’ve been in a room with them and talked with them, and to answer your question, I think what they do is along the lines of that mythological journey that Joe Campbell talked about, who happened to be a friend of George Lucas that George Lucas put into his stories. They do the same thing.”
“So, there’s been talk of Magneto, there’s been talk of Dr. Freeze, there has been talk of, who else are they talking about over there? Oh, Doom! And there is Professor X. Pick one? I’m going to go for something that is a little bit different. I’m going to go and put it out in the universe that it is Professor X.
