Gigi Hadid, the American fashion model and television personality, was recently arrested and charged with possessing marijuana and drug paraphernalia in the Cayman Islands.
According to TMZ, She flew there from the U.S. and arrived on July 10 via a private jet at Owen Roberts International Airport. Upon going through customs, her luggage was scanned and manually searched by Customs and Border Control agents. They discovered a small quantity of marijuana and smoking utensils.
Gigi’s rep tells ET she “was traveling with marijuana purchased legally in NYC with a Medical license” and that “her record remains clear.”

Hadid and her companion were arrested in the Cayman Islands for importing marijuana and smoking utensils, although it was determined to be for personal use. Gigi was processed at the Royal Cayman Islands Detention Center, arranged for bail, and later released pending prosecution. She received a $1,000 fine, and no conviction was recorded on her record.
