HBO’s Euphoria Season 3 has begun production in Los Angeles, three years after the release of Season 2.
According to reports, Zendaya and other cast members were spotted on set on February 5, 2025. The filming will continue for nine months and is expected to wrap in October. Season 3 will contain eight episodes.
In a recent interview with IndieWire, the show’s makeup artist, Donni Davy, said that Season 3 of Euphoria will feature a more refined and toned-down makeup look compared to previous seasons. Neon colors and Season 1-style sparkles will be largely reduced.
Davy said, “Certain things are more toned down, but then because of the storyline, there’s moments when certain things get even more toned up.” Davy added, “It’ll be different from Season 2, but it won’t be minimal across the board. The storylines dictate the makeup, and each of the characters will have certain moments that are more minimal and certain moments that are more maximal. But what I can say is that you’re not going to see a lot of neons and Season 1 era sparkle. It’s going to be more refined.”
In Season 3, Zendaya returns as Rue Bennett, Hunter Schafer as Jules Vaughn, Nika King as Leslie Bennett, Eric Dane as Cal Jacobs, Jacob Elordi as Nate Jacobs, Alexa Demie as Maddy Perez, Sydney Sweeney as Cassie Howard, Maude Apatow as Lexi Howard, Dominic Fike as Elliot, and Colman Domingo as Ali Muhammad.
The show’s costume designer, Heidi Bivens, has already revealed that Season 3 may feature a five-year time jump: “There is talk of it being approximately five years in the future, and that they’re not in high school anymore.”
The Sam Levinson-created show follows a group of high school students as they navigate the trials and tribulations of adolescence, including drug use, sex, and identity issues. The show has earned nine Emmy Awards for its first two seasons, including two for Zendaya, making her the youngest two-time Emmy winner, and one for Colman Domingo.
Euphoria Season 3 will premiere on Max in 2026.
