Cox said, “That storyline is so poignant for Matt Murdock and his world because he’s having to defend someone who does what he does—without revealing to the world that coincidence.”
In an interview with Empire Online, showrunner Dario Scardapane described Daredevil: Born Again as extremely violent for a Marvel/Disney+ series.
“There’s a moment in this that is absolutely batshit—far beyond anything Netflix ever did,” he said.
Here’s the plot details for Daredevil: Born Again:
“Matt Murdock (Cox), a blind lawyer with heightened abilities, is fighting for justice through his bustling law firm, while former mob boss Wilson Fisk (Vincent D’Onofrio) pursues his own political endeavors in New York City. When their past identities begin to emerge, both men find themselves on an inevitable collision course.”
The series is co-directed by Justin Benson and Aaron Moorhead, with Scardapane serving as the showrunner. All nine episodes are officially rated TV-MA.
The show also stars includes Margarita Levieva as Heather Glenn and Nikki M. James as Kristen McDuffie, both of whom were love interests of Murdock in Marvel Comics. Also, Michael Gandolfini will portray Daniel Blade, Arty Froushan as Buck Cashman, Jon Bernthal as Frank Castle/Punisher, Wilson Bethel as Benjamin Poindexter/Bullseye, Ayelet Zurer as Vanessa Fisk, Hunter Doohan as Muse, and Genneya Walton as BB Urich.
