The Video on Demand (VOD) release date for ‘Imaginary‘ has been revealed.
The horror thriller follows Jessica, who moves back into her childhood home with her family; her youngest stepdaughter Alice develops an eerie attachment to a stuffed bear named Chauncey she finds in the basement. Alice starts playing games with Chauncey that begin playfully but become increasingly sinister.
When Will ‘Imaginary’ Be Available For VOD Release?
‘Imaginary’ will be available on digital HD platforms such as Amazon Prime Video, Vudu, iTunes, and Google Play Movies & TV on March 29, 2024.
The Blu-Ray and 4K UHD versions of ‘Imaginary’ will be released on May 14, 2024.
What is ‘Imaginary’ About?
From Blumhouse (Insidious and The Purge franchises, Get Out) comes a chilling tale of childhood and repressed memories of the past. After Jessica (DeWanda Wise) moves back into her childhood home in Louisiana with her family, the reappearance of an imaginary friend from her youth sets in motion a threatening scavenger hunt with Jessica’s stepdaughter, Alice (Pyper Braun). As Jessica’s memories begin to surface — aided by cryptic stories from an elderly neighbor (Betty Buckley) about a portal to the spirit world — she realizes the imaginary friend she left behind is very real… and very unhappy she left.
Directed and produced by Jeff Wadlow from a screenplay by Wadlow, Greg Erb, and Jason Oremland. It’s co-produced by Jason Blum under his Blumhouse Productions banner and Tower of Babble. (Watch trailer)
The film stars Wise as Jessica, Max’s wife; Braun as Alice, Max’s younger daughter; Tom Payne as Max, Jessica’s husband; Buckley as Gloria, Jessica’s neighbor; Taegen Burns as Taylor, Max’s older daughter; Matthew Sato as Liam, Taylor’s friend; Verónica Falcón as Dr. Alana Soto, a therapist; and Dane DiLiegro as Chauncey Bear.
‘Imaginary’ was released in theaters by Lionsgate on March 8, 2024.
