Jake Gyllenhaal and former UFC fighter Jay Heiron have filmed a scene for the upcoming film “Road House,” after the UFC 285 ceremonial weigh-ins. The clip was exclusively shared by MMA Junkie on Twitter. Watch out below.
“Road House” is a remake of the 1989 film of the same name. The film is directed by Doug Liman from a screenplay by Anthony Bagarozzi, Chuck Mondry, and Sheldon Turner. The film follows James Dalton (Jake Gyllenhaal), an ex-UFC fighter who ends up working at a roadhouse in the Florida Keys, where things are not as they seem.
According to MMA Junkie, the scene was shot in multiple takes and included Gyllenhaal and Hieron, who play UFC fighters in the film. Gyllenhaal looks extremely muscular for the role, and the scene could have well fit in with the actual UFC 285 ceremonial weigh-ins.
“Road House” also stars Daniela Melchior as Ellie, Billy Magnussen, Gbemisola Ikumelo, Lukas Gage, Hannah Love Lanier, Travis Van Winkle, B. K. Cannon, Arturo Castro, Dominique Columbus, Beau Knapp, Bob Menery, Conor McGregor, Joaquim de Almeida, Darren Barnet, Kevin Carroll, J. D. Pardo, and Jay Hieron.
The original film was released in 1989, directed by Rowdy Herrington and starring Patrick Swayze, Kelly Lynch, and Sam Elliott. The film follows James Dalton, a bouncer hired to restore order at a rowdy bar in Jasper, Missouri. Dalton confronts the town’s corrupt politics, including wealthy businessman Brad Wesley. After facing personal obstacles, Dalton and his allies defeat Wesley and restore order to the town.”
“Road House” release date is not yet revealed. The film is set to be released by Amazon Studios.
