There will be no Warner Bros. Pictures logo appearing in James Gunn‘s upcoming Superman, as it is the first film under DC Studios.
Gunn confirmed that Superman and other DC Studios films will not feature the Warner Bros. Pictures intro. On Threads, a fan asked, “Did we get a new WB intro design for Superman?” to which Gunn replied, “There is no WB intro. It’s a DC Studios film.”

However, Warner Bros. Pictures is distributing the film worldwide, and The Hollywood Reporter recently reported that DC Studios and Warner Bros. are spending around $200 million on marketing.
According to reports, Gunn’s Superman introduction is similar to what is done in Star Wars, featuring an opening crawl that contextualizes this new universe.
According to Deadline, Superman is currently tracking for a domestic box office opening of $90 million to $125 million. The film has already earned $10 million in ticket presales. Its production budget was reportedly $225 million.
The film recently had a preview screening of its first 30 minutes in Manila, Philippines. According to reports, it is “well-paced, vibrant, and a must-see in IMAX. The flight scenes are fast, dynamic, and visually unique. The score is well-integrated and enhances the experience.” The crew is also scheduled to travel to Rio de Janeiro, London, Paris, Los Angeles, New York, and Beijing in the coming days.
Here’s the logline from DC Studios for Superman: “In his signature style, Gunn takes on the original superhero in the newly imagined DC universe with a singular blend of epic action, humor, and heart, delivering a Superman who’s driven by compassion and an inherent belief in the goodness of humankind.”
The film stars David Corenswet (Twisters, Hollywood) in the dual role of Superman/Clark Kent, Rachel Brosnahan (The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel) as Lois Lane, and Nicholas Hoult (the X-Men movies, Juror #2) as Lex Luthor. The film also features Edi Gathegi (The Harder They Fall), Anthony Carrigan (Barry, Gotham), Nathan Fillion (the Guardians of the Galaxy films, The Suicide Squad), Isabela Merced (Alien: Romulus), Skyler Gisondo (Licorice Pizza, Booksmart), Sara Sampaio (At Midnight), Gabriela de Faría (The Moodys), Wendell Pierce (Selma, Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan), Alan Tudyk (Andor), Pruitt Taylor Vince (Bird Box), and Neva Howell (Greedy People).
DC Studios heads Peter Safran and Gunn are producing the film, which Gunn is directing from his own screenplay, based on characters from DC — Superman created by Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster.
Superman will have a duration of 2 hours and 9 minutes. The film will be released in theaters and IMAX nationwide on July 11, 2025, and internationally beginning July 9, 2025, by Warner Bros. Pictures.
