James Gunn reveals that the upcoming DC film ‘Superman: Legacy‘ officially enters pre-production. On his social media account, Gunn shares a picture of the script and says costumes, production design, and more are now up and running.
On Instagram, James Gunn wrote, “I’m honored to be a part of the legacy. And what better day than #SupermanAnniversary Day to dive fully into early pre-production on #SupermanLegacy? Costumes, production design, and more now up and running.”
Superman: Legacy is the first film in the DC Universe and the third installment in Chapter One: Gods and Monsters. The film is written and directed by James Gunn, and he also produces with Peter Safran. The cast is not yet announced.
According to GQ, Superman: Legacy will be the lynchpin of Gunn and Safran’s multi-platform universe that they’re referring to as “Chapter One: Gods and Monsters.” Though the Superman character is one of the most ubiquitous in comic book history, there have been struggles to make the hero resonate on screen.
Superman: Legacy will hit theaters on July 11, 2025.
