James Gunn‘s Superman will feature Eve Teschmacher, Lex Luthor’s girlfriend. It may come as a surprise to some who’s playing the role — it’s confirmed that supermodel Sara Sampaio has been officially cast as Eve Teschmacher. She joined the cast in November 2023, alongside Skyler Gisondo, who plays Jimmy Olsen.
As of now, Sampaio’s Eve Teschmacher has not appeared in any official marketing for Gunn’s Superman. The only known glimpse of her character comes from a set photo, not an official image or trailer.
Speaking on the official companion podcast for James Gunn and Peter Safran’s DCU, DC Studios (via YouTube), Sara Sampaio discussed her character Eve Teschmacher and confirmed that she will be Lex Luthor’s girlfriend in the upcoming Superman movie.
Sampaio said: “Lex just wants to take down Superman, and I’m just happy that my boyfriend is rich and takes me to all these places.”
She added: “And, um… But I actually do have a heart, and I have a—you know, I can actually tell what’s right from wrong-ish, you know? Very, like, you know… But I do… I do have a line, you know?”
During production, Gunn shared a picture with the cast of Superman, featuring Sampaio, David Corenswet, Rachel Brosnahan, Isabela Merced, Edi Gathegi, Nathan Fillion, Anthony Carrigan, María Gabriela de Faría, Nicholas Hoult, and Gisondo. See the image below.

On Sampaio’s birthday, Gunn shared an image on Instagram of her with a dog while filming was underway in Norway. See it below.

In the original films, Teschmacher was both Lex Luthor’s assistant and love interest, known for her conflicted loyalty.
DC Studios heads Peter Safran and Gunn are producing the film, which Gunn is directing from his own screenplay, based on characters from DC — Superman created by Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster.
The film stars Corenswet (Twisters, Hollywood) in the dual role of Superman/Clark Kent, Brosnahan (The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel) as Lois Lane, and Nicholas Hoult (the X-Men movies, Juror #2) as Lex Luthor. The film also features Gathegi (The Harder They Fall), Carrigan (Barry, Gotham), Fillion (the Guardians of the Galaxy films, The Suicide Squad), Merced (Alien: Romulus), Gisondo (Licorice Pizza, Booksmart), Sampaio (At Midnight), Gabriela de Faría (The Moodys), Wendell Pierce (Selma, Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan), Alan Tudyk (Andor), Pruitt Taylor Vince (Bird Box), and Neva Howell (Greedy People).

Superman is executive produced by Nikolas Korda, Chantal Nong Vo, and Lars Winther. Behind the camera, Gunn is joined by frequent collaborators, including director of photography Henry Braham, production designer Beth Mickle, costume designer Judianna Makovsky, and composer John Murphy, along with composer David Fleming (The Last of Us). Editors include William Hoy (The Batman), Jason Ballantine (the IT films, The Flash), and Craig Alpert (Deadpool 2, Blue Beetle).
Superman will be released in theaters and IMAX nationwide on July 11, 2025, and internationally starting July 9, 2025, by Warner Bros. Pictures.
