Jamie Foxx is being sued for allegedly sexually assaulting a patron, Jane Doe, at a New York rooftop bar in 2015. Doe claims Foxx touched her inappropriately, and despite her attempts to step away, a security guard and others who witnessed the incident chose to walk away.
According to the lawsuit TMZ reported, around 1 AM, Jane Doe’s friend asked Foxx to take a photo with her and Doe. She alleges that Foxx, who seemed intoxicated, agreed, saying, ‘Sure, baby, anything for you.’
Doe claims that during the photo session, Foxx made inappropriate comments such as ‘Wow, you have that supermodel body,’ ‘You smell so good,’ and told her that she looked like Gabrielle Union.
In the documents, Doe alleges that Foxx put his hand into her pants, touching her body. She states her friend witnessed the incident, and Foxx stopped when confronted. Doe claims injuries, requiring medical treatment, and endured pain, suffering, and emotional distress due to the alleged sexual assault, abuse, assault, and battery.
The lawsuit is among several filed under New York’s Adult Survivors Act, which allows a one-year window for filing sexual abuse claims otherwise barred by the statute of limitations. The deadline for such claims is Thursday.
On April 2023, Foxx was hospitalized for a medical emergency, as announced by his daughter Corinne. By May 2023, he had been out of the hospital for weeks, recovering. Since late April, he has been in a Chicago rehab facility specializing in strokes and brain injuries. On July 22, 2023, Foxx posted a video on Instagram, acknowledging a tough health journey.
As of now, Foxx has not made any statements about the sexual assault case.
