“I’ll tell you what’s changed. I’m not alone anymore.”
Warner Bros. Pictures has released the first trailer for ‘Joker: Folie à Deux,’ starring Joaquin Phoenix as Arthur Fleck/Joker and Lady Gaga as Harley Quinn. The trailer debuted during CinemaCon 2024.
How is ‘Joker: Folie à Deux’ Trailer?
The trailer opens with Arthur in jail, where he meets Harley for the first time, leading to a musical and mad relationship. Phoenix’s performance echoes that of his portrayal in the 2019 ‘Joker’ film. A major highlight in the trailer is an iconic dance sequence on the courthouse steps. Additionally, it appears that Joker is still facing harassment from society and is poised to seek revenge. Watch the trailer below.
Directed by Todd Phillips and stars Phoenix as Arthur Fleck, Gaga as Harley Quinn, Zazie Beetz as Sophie Dumond, Brendan Gleeson, Catherine Keener, Jacob Lofland, and Harry Lawtey. Gaga is playing the role of Dr. Harleen Quinzel (Harley Quinn), a psychiatrist who falls in love with Arthur Fleck (Phoenix) and is also his greatest supporter.
The film had a $200 million budget and reportedly leans heavily towards being “mostly a jukebox musical,” as confirmed by Variety. The film will include at least 15 covers of “very well-known” songs.
Produced by Warner Bros. Pictures and DC Studios in association with Village Roadshow Pictures, Bron Creative, and Joint Effort.
‘Joker: Folie à Deux’ is set to premiere at the 81st Venice International Film Festival in September 2024 before its theatrical release by Warner Bros. Pictures on October 4, 2024.
