Joseph Quinn, who has been cast as Johnny Storm in Marvel’s Fantastic Four reboot film, revealed that he has had his costume fitting for the role and has started physical training.
Joseph Quinn Starts His Physical Training Marvel’s Fantastic Four Role
In a recent interview with GQ magazine, Quinn said that he had hired a personal trainer for his training for the Johnny Storm role.
Quinn said, “I’m eating stuff and lifting things. I’m working with someone great—if you’d cast someone as a personal trainer, you’d cast him, he’s a rhinoceros of a man.” Quinn added, “He’s very good at his job, he gets me to do the things I don’t want to do.”
All this has left little time for Quinn to breathe. It’s all happened so fast, Quinn says, that “you can’t think. You just have to go with it.”
Directed by Matt Shakman, the original script for ‘Fantastic Four,’ written by Jeff Kaplan and Ian Springer, has undergone a rewrite by Scott Neustadter and Michael H. Weber.
The film stars Pedro Pascal as Reed Richards/Mr. Fantastic, Vanessa Kirby as Sue Storm/Invisible Woman, Quinn as Johnny Storm/Human Torch, Ebon Moss-Bachrach as Ben Grimm/The Thing, and Ralph Ineson as Galactus. Julia Garner is set to portray a female Silver Surfer, with Paul Walter Hauser and John Malkovich in undisclosed roles. Additionally, characters yet to be cast include Mole Man and H.E.R.B.I.E.
As per the rumored plot details, the film opens in 1963 on Earth, where a world that was once perfect is now slowly dying due to incursions across the multiverse. Reed Richards (Pascal) has been trying to restructure his world for weeks, but theirs has just too many incursions. Reed begins to explain to his family what’s going on before studying time travel and quickly making a time machine with H.E.R.B.I.E. While Johnny (Quinn) goofs around with Ben (Moss-Bachrach) in the lab, Sue (Kirby) then gets upset with Reed because she thinks he isn’t doing enough to save their reality until a loud signal goes off on the computer warning about the coming of Galactus. The Fab Four will then have a standoff with the planet eater for the first time before escaping their universe and time-traveling to Earth-616.
Filming is scheduled to begin in Q3 2024. Produced by Kevin Feige, Grant Curtis, and Nick Pepin.
‘Fantastic Four’ will hit theaters on July 25, 2025.
