Josh O’Connor (Challengers) will star as a cowboy rebuilding his life after a fire destroys his ranch in his new movie, ‘The History of Sound‘.
The filming has already been completed in Colorado, as confirmed by O’Connor in an interview with The Wall Street Journal.
Directed by Oliver Hermanus, the film is based on the short story of the same name by Ben Shattuck. It depicts the journey of two men who fall in love while traveling together to record the stories and songs of their countrymen during WWI.
The film also stars Paul Mescal as Lionel. More cast members will be revealed soon.
Produced by Lisa Ciuffetti, Andrew Kortschak, and Andrea Roa, ‘The History of Sound’ is a collaboration between production companies Film4 and End Cue. It is distributed by Embankment Films and CAA Media Finance.
O’Connor’s new film ‘Challengers‘ will hit theaters on April 26, 2024.
