Paramount Plus released the first trailer for the ‘Knuckles‘ series, a spin-off of the film Sonic the Hedgehog 2 (2022). It marks the first live-action series in the Sonic franchise.
What is the Plot of the ‘Knuckles’ Series?
The new live-action series will follow Knuckles (Idris Elba) on a hilarious and action-packed journey of self-discovery as he agrees to train Wade (Adam Pally) as his protégé and teach him the ways of the Echidna warrior. The series takes place between the films Sonic the Hedgehog 2 and Sonic the Hedgehog 3 (filming).
Elba stars as Knuckles the Echidna, while Pally plays deputy sheriff Wade Whipple. Other cast members include Cary Elwes as “Pistol” Pete Whipple, Rory McCann as The Buyer, Tika Sumpter as Maddie Wachowski, Knuckles’ adoptive mother, Ben Schwartz as Sonic the Hedgehog, Colleen O’Shaughnessey as Miles “Tails” Prower. Additionally, the series features recurring cast members Edi Patterson, Julian Barratt, Scott Mescudi, Ellie Taylor, and guest appearances by Stockard Channing, Christopher Lloyd, Paul Scheer, and Rob Huebel in undisclosed roles.
Created by John Whittington and Toby Ascher for the streaming service Paramount+, the series is based on the Sonic the Hedgehog video game series published by Sega.
