Cinematographer Lawrence Sher of ‘Joker: Folie à Deux‘ confirms the film is in its final post-production stages and describes it as a ‘pretty risky and surprising movie.’
In an interview with Definition Magazine, Sher said, “We’ve got a new Joker coming out next year, and we’re just finishing up post-production on it.” He added, “This movie is a big swing, and it’s going to be really surprising to people. I’m so excited for everyone to see it.”
Filming started in December 2022 and finished in April 2023. While filming was underway, leaked images of Lady Gaga in New York City surfaced online. Gaga is playing the role of Dr. Harleen Quinzel (Harley Quinn), a psychiatrist who falls in love with Arthur Fleck (Joaquin Phoenix) and is also his greatest supporter.
Todd Phillips, who directed the first film, returns to direct the sequel, “Joker: Folie à Deux.” The film also stars Zazie Beetz as Sophie Dumond, Brendan Gleeson, Catherine Keener, Jacob Lofland, and Harry Lawtey.
The film is produced by Warner Bros. Pictures and DC Studios in association with Village Roadshow Pictures, Bron Creative, and Joint Effort.
‘Joker: Folie à Deux’ will hit theaters on October 4, 2024, by Warner Bros. Pictures.
