On New Year’s Day, Netflix officially announced that Squid Game Season 3 will premiere in 2025. It will mark the final season of the show.
Following this announcement, a rumor surfaced on the Korean website Naver, claiming that Leonardo DiCaprio is set to make an appearance in Season 3. However, this rumor is false.
Netflix clarified, stating, “We also heard about Leonardo DiCaprio appearing, but it is not true.”
Filming for Season 3 has already been completed, and its release is expected in the summer of 2025. Season 2, which premiered on December 26, 2024, has become Netflix’s #1 show in 92 countries.
An official announcement revealed, “With 68 million views, Season 2 broke the record for the most views for a show in its premiere week and has already become Netflix’s seventh most popular non-English TV show ever.”
In Season 2, three years after winning the Squid Game, Player 456 decides against going to the United States and returns with a new resolution. Gi-hun once again enters the mysterious survival game, embarking on another life-or-death challenge alongside new participants, all competing for the 45.6 billion won prize.
