Warner Bros. Pictures has released the first teaser trailer for Paul Thomas Anderson‘s One Battle After Another, starring Leonardo DiCaprio. The full trailer will be released next week. Watch the teaser below.
The film is written and directed by Thomas Anderson and is inspired by Thomas Pynchon’s novel Vineland, marking Anderson’s second adaptation of Pynchon’s work after Inherent Vice (2014).
One Battle After Another follows a group of former revolutionaries who reunite to rescue one of their daughters after a long-dormant enemy resurfaces following 16 years in the shadows.

According to World of Reel, DiCaprio and Teyana Taylor portray the film’s ‘Bonnie and Clyde’—civil rights activists who become involved with an anti-government group that includes characters played by Alana Haim and Regina Hall. Hall’s character serves as a mentor, training DiCaprio’s daughter (Chase Infiniti). Sean Penn takes on the role of the film’s villain, Sgt. Lockjaw, an ‘alt-right’ Richard Spencer-type figure who aligns himself with a white supremacist group.
The film also stars Regina Hall, Sean Penn, Alana Haim, Taylor, Wood Harris, Benicio del Toro, Shayna McHayle, and Chase Infiniti.
Produced by Paul Thomas Anderson, Sara Murphy, Adam Somner, and JoAnne Sellar under the Ghoulardi Film Company banner.
One Battle After Another will be released in theaters across the United States on September 26, 2025, by Warner Bros. Pictures.
