Apple TV+ released the trailer for Martin Scorsese’s Western crime drama film, ‘Killers of the Flower Moon’ starring Leonardo DiCaprio, Robert De Niro, Lily Gladstone, and Jesse Plemons. The film follows a series of murders that took place in the Osage Nation in Oklahoma during the 1920s, following the discovery of oil on tribal land.
The film is directed by Martin Scorsese from a screenplay he co-wrote with Eric Roth, based on the bestselling 2017 non-fiction book titled “Killers of the Flower Moon: The Osage Murders and the Birth of the FBI” by David Grann. Watch the trailer below.

At the turn of the 20th century, oil brought a fortune to the Osage Nation, who became some of the richest people in the world overnight. The wealth of these Native Americans immediately attracted white interlopers, who manipulated, extorted, and stole as much Osage money as they could before resorting to murder. Based on a true story and told through the improbable romance of Ernest Burkhart (Leonardo DiCaprio) and Mollie Kyle (Lily Gladstone), “Killers of the Flower Moon” is an epic Western crime saga, where real love crosses paths with unspeakable betrayal. According to reports, the ‘Killers of the Flower Moon’ final runtime is reportedly 3 hours and 54 minutes (234 minutes). Scorsese says, “I say to the audience, if there is an audience for this kind of thing, make a commitment. Your life might be enriched. This is a different kind of picture; I really think it is.”
The film is produced by Dan Friedkin, Emma Tillinger Koskoff, Martin Scorsese, and Bradley Thomas. The film marks the seventh collaboration between Scorsese and DiCaprio as well as the eleventh collaboration between Scorsese and De Niro.
Production companies are Apple Studios, Imperative Entertainment, Sikelia Productions, and Appian Way Productions. The film reportedly had a budget of $200 million.
‘Killers of the Flower Moon’ will have its world premiere at the 76th Cannes Film Festival on May 20, 2023. Following its debut, the film is slated for a select cinema release on October 6, 2023, before a wider release in the United States on October 20, 2023, distributed by Paramount Pictures. Additionally, the film is scheduled for an unspecified streaming release on Apple TV+.
