Marvel Studios’ ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ Cast Reveal Was Just a Tease—Bigger Announcements Coming Later

There is a question circulating among Marvel fans about why Marvel hasn’t announced the full cast details for Avengers: Doomsday during the live-streamed cast announcement. As of now, only 27 cast members have been officially announced.

According to insider Daniel Richtman, Marvel Studios only revealed some names for Avengers: Doomsday because they wanted a bigger reveal when filming begins. Also, not all deals are finalized yet, so they only confirmed the actors who are officially signed on.

In a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter, the Russo Brothers revealed that Marvel gave them baseball cards to track MCU actors and their contracts.

Anthony Russo said, “Yes, we continue to use the baseball cards.”

Joe Russo added, “Now they have magnets on them so we can put ‘em on a board and look at ‘em. It’s the only way to keep track of the number of characters we’re working with [in these two films].”

Pedro Pascal as Reed Richards (Mr. Fantastic), Vanessa Kirby as Sue Storm (Invisible Woman), Joseph Quinn as Johnny Storm (Human Torch), Ebon Moss-Bachrach as Ben Grimm (The Thing), and Lewis Pullman as Sentry.

During production, we can expect the cast announcement of Chris Evans in an undisclosed role, Hayley Atwell as Peggy Carter, Mark Ruffalo as Hulk, Danai Gurira as Okoye, Chris Pratt as Star-Lord, Charlie Cox as Daredevil, Benedict Wong as Wong, Iman Vellani as Ms. Marvel, Jeremy Renner as Hawkeye, Tom Holland as Spider-Man, Oscar Isaac as Moon Knight, Tessa Thompson as Valkyrie, Evangeline Lilly as The Wasp, Paul Bettany as White Vision, Tatiana Maslany as She-Hulk, Don Cheadle as War Machine, Brie Larson as Captain Marvel, Olga Kurylenko as Taskmaster, Dominique Thorne as Ironheart, Samuel L. Directed by Joe and Anthony Russo, the film is joined by longtime collaborator Stephen McFeely, who is penning the screenplay.

Production for Doomsday is now underway in the United Kingdom. The film will mark the beginning of the end of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). As the multiverse nears total collapse, the Avengers must assemble to face their biggest challenge yet—incursions, catastrophic collisions between realities that could destroy the entire multiverse. Earth’s Mightiest Heroes must race against time to save their reality while confronting the powerful figure behind it all—Victor Von Doom (Downey Jr.).
