Marvel Studios is planning to make ‘Avengers 5‘ more of a stand-alone. It was previously slated as a two-part event that followed up on ‘Avengers: Secret Wars‘. As the latest update from insider Daniel Richtman shared on his Patreon page, ‘Secret Wars’ will be a big event and will be split into two films like Avengers: Infinity War and Endgame.
When Will Avengers 5 Begin Filming?
We already confirmed that ‘Avengers 5’ is scheduled to begin filming in January 2025, with the locations set in Los Angeles, CA, United States, and London, United Kingdom. The film will involve the multiverse concept but will be a more grounded film.
Following the termination of Jonathan Majors, who played Kang the Conqueror in the MCU, his replacement caused the entire script to change. As of now, we understand a new Kang announcement is coming in the next few months, and John David Washington was last in talks with Marvel about the role.
Recently, it was reported that Marvel is calling on some Avengers actors to keep their schedules open for the production of ‘Avengers 5’. Benedict Cumberbatch is expected to return as Doctor Strange in the film. The director is not yet finalized.
As per the listing, the synopsis for ‘Avengers 5’ reads: “Kang the Conqueror has been a foe of the Avengers for decades! Now, witness his ultimate triumph as he brings all of his vast, cross-time-spanning legions to bear to conquer the earth once and for all! Can Earth’s Mightiest Heroes hold back the colossal forces arrayed against them, or will they face defeat and subjugation beneath the boot of the Conqueror?”
The film follows the events of previous movies such as ‘The Avengers’, ‘Avengers: Age of Ultron’, ‘Avengers: Infinity War’, ‘Avengers: Endgame’, ‘Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania’, and the second season of ‘Loki’. This film is the 42nd in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and belongs to Phase Six.
‘Avengers 5’ will hit theaters on May 1, 2026. See more.
