Marvel Studios’ What If…? Season 2 has been officially announced at San Diego Comic-Con International 2022. Season 2 of What If…? with nine episodes of the original series, streaming in early 2024 on Disney+.
What If…? Season 2 follows after enlisting the Guardians of the Multiverse to stop Infinity Ultron, The Watcher returns in Season 2 of What If…? to meet new heroes and explore more strange new worlds in the MCU’s ever-expanding Multiverse. A. C. Bradley serves as head writer with Bryan Andrews directing.
The What If…? Season 2 footage shown at Comic-Con includes conflicts between Asgardians and warriors from Shang-Chi and glimpses of Neil Gaiman’s “Marvel 1602” run, in which Stephen Strange and other superheroes exist in Elizabethan England.
What If…? Season 2 Plot Details
What If…? is an animated anthology series created by A. C. Bradley, based on the Marvel Comics series of the same name. The series explores alternate timeline instances in the multiverse from the major MCU films.
Doctor Strange, Captain Carter, Black Widow, HYDRA Stomper, Gamora, and Iron Man will return to Season 2. “As you know with animation, it takes a long time to produce. We were fortunate enough to get the green light on a second season early enough to have a chance to release it next year,” Mark Winderbaum, producer at Marvel Studios, told Collider. “We’ll see what happens. Obviously, I don’t want to predict the future with this new world we live in, but our intention is to make it an annual release.”
“It’s going to be all-new stories, lots of fun, new heroes, and pulling more from Phase Four than we were obviously able to this season,” A.C. Bradley, head writer on What If…?, told EW.

The First look at Marvel Studios’ new original character Kahhori, from What If…? Season 2 has been revealed. Her episode will focus on “What would happen if the Tesseract fell to Earth and landed in the sovereign Haudenosaunee Confederacy before the colonization of America.”
What If…? Season 2 Release Date?
According to Marvel Studios, What If…? Season 2 will premiere in early 2024 on Disney+. The episode details are not yet revealed.
