A new update for the second season of Marvel‘s Hawkeye series has dropped. The first season premiered in November 2021, and after four years, the series is soon expected to get the green light.
According to insider Daniel Richtman in a Patreon post, Marvel Studios’ pitch for Hawkeye Season 2 is reportedly a Die Hard-inspired adventure, where Clint Barton (Jeremy Renner) and Kate Bishop (Hailee Steinfeld) are trapped in one location, fending off hordes of assassins.
Richtman also revealed that Season 2 will take place during Christmas, just like Season 1. The main villain will be Clint’s brother, Barney Barton.
Who is Barney Barton in Marvel Comics?

In Marvel Comics, Barney Barton is the older brother of Clint Barton (Hawkeye). The two grew up together but took different paths—while Clint became a hero, Barney turned to crime.
Like Clint, he was trained in archery and later became a villain called Trickshot. He worked with criminals and fought his brother many times.
In some stories, he is badly injured but is later saved and given superpowers. He then joins a group of villains and continues to fight Hawkeye.
According to Alex Perez’s Discord Q&A (via The Cosmic Circus), Marvel’s new TV strategy focuses on multi-season shows, and Hawkeye could get more than two seasons. Also, Season 2 storyline could spin off from Daredevil: Born Again Season 1.
There are reports of a street-level Avengers team after Avengers: Secret Wars, which could include Spider-Man, Daredevil, Punisher, Kate Bishop, Echo, and Clint Barton.
Hawkeye Season 1 is now streaming on Disney+.
