The next Spider-Man movie with Tom Holland will be a follow-up to the last released ‘Spider-Man: No Way Home.’ We found rumored script details on Alex Perez’s Discord Q&A (reported by The Cosmic Circus).
How Will Peter Lead His Life with Past Trauma in Spider-Man 4?
According to the rumored plot of ‘Spider-Man 4,’ Peter Parker will be processing the trauma of his past. He’ll be suffering from PTSD, unable to sleep, and using his vigilantism as a coping mechanism.
Alex said, “It’s trauma, PTSD, and a whole lot of nightmares. Lots of stressful nights and being unable to sleep, using Spider-Man as a coping mechanism so he doesn’t have to deal with the nightmares of his past.”
Also, Holland’s Spider-Man will face off against Doctor Octopus and Green Goblin again in the MCU, but this time they will be different variants. Inspired by the fight they witnessed during the events of ‘No Way Home,’ people in the MCU could become new variants of these same villains.
“The whole world was watching the final fight during No Way Home. And it may or may not have inspired a couple of people in the MCU,” says Alex.
Alex also denied Black Cat’s appearance in ‘Spider-Man 4.’ The director is not attached to the film yet. But Marvel is considering ‘Ms. Marvel’s co-directors, Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah, and is also open to the idea of indie directors.
Filming is set to begin filming in late September 2024. The film is being characterized as a “street-level civil war,” and there are hints that Kate Bishop, Echo, and Jessica Jones may make appearances in the film. Also, ‘Spider-Man 4’ may feature appearances by Charlie Cox’s Daredevil and Paul Rudd’s Ant-Man. Additionally, it has been confirmed that Ant-Man will have a “sizeable role” in the movie.
Holland will return as Peter Parker/Spider-Man. We got the news that Sony is trying to bring back Zendaya, while Jacob Batalon’s Ned Leeds won’t be back. The script is written by Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers, known for their work on previous MCU Spider-Man films.
The film will be a co-production between Marvel and Sony. As of now, ‘Spider-Man 4’ does not have a release date scheduled.
