Why hasn’t Tom Holland‘s Spider-Man been announced in the cast of Marvel’s Avengers: Doomsday? That was a question asked by fans. However, the reason is that Spider-Man: Brand New Day will reportedly take place simultaneously with the events of Avengers: Doomsday.
According to Jeff Sneider’s The InSneider Report, it is confirmed that Spider-Man: Brand New Day and Avengers: Doomsday will share the same timeline, with events happening concurrently. Holland’s role will be minimal in Avengers: Doomsday, while Brand New Day will explore more of Peter Parker’s current life.
Sneider said, “I’m told that ‘Spider-Man 4’ is basically taking place at the same time, simultaneously, concurrently alongside ‘Doomsday,’ and that would explain his absence.”

The plot details of Spider-Man: Brand New Day have already teased the connection with Avengers: Doomsday. “Following the events of Avengers: Doomsday, Peter Parker is determined to lead a normal life and focus on college, stepping back from his responsibilities as Spider-Man. However, peace is short-lived when a deadly new threat emerges, endangering his friends and forcing Peter to reconsider his promise. With stakes higher than ever, Peter reluctantly returns to his Spider-Man identity and finds himself teaming up with an unlikely ally to protect those he loves.”
Spider-Man: Brand New Day will begin filming in June 2025 in the United Kingdom and is expected to wrap in October 2025. Directed by Destin Daniel Cretton from a screenplay by Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers, it will be the fourth installment of the Spider-Man series. The film has a production budget of $200 million. In the CinemaCon 2025 panel, Holland said in a video message that Spider-Man: Brand New Day is a fresh start.
Director Cretton said, “I’m spending my time exploring the next stage of this amazing character with a team of the most incredible artists in the world,” he hinted. “We’re all, just daily, nerding out over the suit, how to swing, how to create an event, an emotional story, and a ride that we haven’t really seen before.”
It is reported that Sadie Sink, who joined the cast of Spider-Man: Brand New Day, will have a “mysterious past.” Her character is reportedly described as a “sharp and free-spirited woman who is strong-willed, intelligent, and not easily intimidated.”
Avengers: Doomsday is set to hit theaters on May 1, 2026, followed by Spider-Man: Brand New Day, which will arrive on July 31, 2026.
