A new update on casting and filming for Marvel’s Spider-Man: Brand New Day has been revealed.
According to industry insider Daniel Richtman, in his new Patreon post, Spider-Man: Brand New Day will reportedly begin filming in August 2025 in the United Kingdom.
Following the recent casting of Sadie Sink in Spider-Man 4, Marvel Studios is also casting three new roles for Spider-Man: Brand New Day. Two of these roles are for villains — one male and one female.
What is the Plot of Spider-Man: Brand New Day?

Spider-Man: Brand New Day follows the events of Avengers: Doomsday. Peter Parker is determined to lead a normal life and focus on college, stepping back from his responsibilities as Spider-Man. However, peace is short-lived when a deadly new threat emerges, endangering his friends and forcing Peter to reconsider his promise. With the stakes higher than ever, Peter reluctantly returns to his Spider-Man identity and finds himself teaming up with an unlikely ally to protect those he loves.
Directed by Destin Daniel Cretton from a screenplay by Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers, the film will be the fourth installment of the Spider-Man series. It has a production budget of $200 million.
During CinemaCon 2025, Cretton said, “I’m spending my time exploring the next stage of this amazing character with a team of the most incredible artists in the world,” he hinted. “We’re all just daily nerding out over the suit, how to swing, how to create an event, an emotional story, and a ride that we haven’t really seen before.”
Tom Holland, who reprises his role as Peter Parker/Spider-Man, said at CinemaCon that Spider-Man: Brand New Day is a fresh start.
Holland said, “I know we left you with a massive cliffhanger at the end of No Way Home, so Spider-Man: Brand New Day is a fresh start. It is exactly that. That’s all I can say.”
We have also reported that Marvel is casting a 30–50-year-old Asian actor for a major role in Spider-Man: Brand New Day. It is also rumored that Martin Li/Mr. Negative will appear in the movie.
According to reports, Sink’s character in Spider-Man: Brand New Day will have a “mysterious past.” Her character is reportedly described as a “sharp and free-spirited woman who is strong-willed, intelligent, and not easily intimidated.”
The film will be produced by Amy Pascal, Rachel O’Connor, Kevin Feige, Louis D’Esposito, and Mitch Bell.
Spider-Man 4 will hit theaters on July 31, 2026.
