Marvel’s The Fantastic Four: First Steps first-look special footage was screened during Disney’s D23 event in Brazil, with Marvel President Kevin Feige on stage. Also, several teaser cuts were shown at the event, and some images were leaked by users on X (formerly Twitter).
After the footage screening at D23 Brazil, Feige says that The Fantastic Four: First Steps has only a few weeks of filming left.
The images below show the Fantastic Four team: Pedro Pascal as Reed Richards/Mr. Fantastic, Vanessa Kirby as Sue Storm/Invisible Woman, Joseph Quinn as Johnny Storm/Human Torch, and Ebon Moss-Bachrach as Ben Grimm/The Thing, all dressed in astronaut suits. Set in a “retro-future ’60s” version of New York, the scene features their spaceship preparing for takeoff.
Directed by Matt Shakman from the original script penned by Jeff Kaplan and Ian Springer, which has undergone a rewrite by Scott Neustadter and Michael H. Weber. In the film, Pascal plays Reed Richards/Mr. Fantastic, Kirby as Sue Storm/Invisible Woman, Quinn as Johnny Storm/Human Torch, Moss-Bachrach as Ben Grimm/The Thing, and Ralph Ineson as Galactus. Julia Garner is set to portray a female Silver Surfer, with Paul Walter Hauser and John Malkovich as Ivan Kragoff. Additionally, characters yet to be cast include Mole Man and H.E.R.B.I.E.
In an interview with Fandango, Pascal spoke about working with Quinn in The Fantastic Four: First Steps after Gladiator II:
Pascal said, “I love Joe, he and I became immediate friends… To continue with Joe onto Fantastic Four has been like bringing family with me into a family story. It’s been totally amazing.”
The film is produced by Feige, Grant Curtis, and Nick Pepin.
The Fantastic Four: First Steps will hit theaters on July 25, 2025.
