Marvel’s upcoming ‘The Fantastic Four‘ film will feature multiple Marvel comic characters.
According to insider Daniel Richtman, who shared on his Patreon account, the film will include multiple classic villains from the Fantastic Four comics in small roles, appearing in the first act of ‘The Fantastic Four’.
The classic villains in Marvel Comics connected with the Fantastic Four include Doctor Doom, a brilliant scientist and sorcerer; Galactus, the Devourer of Worlds; Mole Man, the subterranean ruler; the shape-shifting Skrulls; Annihilus, the ruler of the Negative Zone; the Super-Skrull, with the combined powers of the Fantastic Four; Kang the Conqueror, a time-traveling warlord; Namor the Sub-Mariner, the prince of Atlantis; Puppet Master, who controls people with radioactive clay; and the Frightful Four, a team of supervillains. We have to wait and see which of these villains will appear in the film.
In a recent interview, Ralph Ineson, who was recently cast as Galactus in the film, said that ‘The Fantastic Four’ script is “cool as f***.” He added, “I’m not someone who knows the whole lore of Marvel. My son is an expert. He’s been schooling me for the last couple of months.”
The film stars Pedro Pascal as Reed Richards/Mr. Fantastic, Vanessa Kirby as Sue Storm/Invisible Woman, Joseph Quinn as Johnny Storm/Human Torch, Ebon Moss-Bachrach as Ben Grimm/The Thing, and Ineson as Galactus. Julia Garner is set to portray a female Silver Surfer, with Paul Walter Hauser and John Malkovich in undisclosed roles. Additionally, characters yet to be cast include Mole Man and H.E.R.B.I.E.
Directed by Matt Shakman, the original script for ‘Fantastic Four,’ written by Jeff Kaplan and Ian Springer, has undergone a rewrite by Scott Neustadter and Michael H. Weber. Filming is scheduled to begin in Q3 2024. Produced by Kevin Feige, Grant Curtis, and Nick Pepin.
Recently, Quinn said that he has had his costume fitting for the role and has started physical training. Quinn said, “I’m eating stuff and lifting things. I’m working with someone great—if you’d cast someone as a personal trainer, you’d cast him, he’s a rhinoceros of a man.” Quinn added, “He’s very good at his job, he gets me to do the things I don’t want to do.”
As per the rumored plot details, the film opens in 1963 on Earth, where a world that was once perfect is now slowly dying due to incursions across the multiverse. Reed Richards (Pascal) has been trying to restructure his world for weeks, but theirs has just too many incursions. Reed begins to explain to his family what’s going on before studying time travel and quickly making a time machine with H.E.R.B.I.E. While Johnny (Quinn) goofs around with Ben (Moss-Bachrach) in the lab, Sue (Kirby) then gets upset with Reed because she thinks he isn’t doing enough to save their reality until a loud signal goes off on the computer warning about the coming of Galactus. The Fab Four will then have a standoff with the planet eater for the first time before escaping their universe and time-traveling to Earth-616.
‘The Fantastic Four’ will hit theaters on July 25, 2025.
