Marvel’s ‘Thor 5‘ is reportedly the franchise’s final chapter, featuring Hercules as the main antagonist. The rumored title for the film is ‘Thor and the Legend of Hercules‘.
What is MCU’s ‘Thor 5’ About?
In the upcoming film, Hercules is set out to be one of the main villains of the project but will turn around and help Odinson in the end with a much bigger threat. Also, ‘Thor 5’ is set to introduce Thor’s half-brother, Balder the Brave. We recently got an Easter egg for Balder in ‘Loki Season 2’ so he’s out in the MCU somewhere. Valhalla will be revisited in the film.
Marvel Studios is searching for a director to lead the project following Taika Waititi’s departure. Recently, ‘The Creator’ director Gareth Edwards has shown interest in directing the fifth installment of the Thor franchise.
If production begins in late 2024, we can expect a release in 2026 for ‘Thor 5.’ This movie will be part of Marvel Phase 7 and is expected to be released before ‘Avengers: The Kang Dynasty‘ and ‘Avengers: Secret Wars.’
In Thor 5, Chris Hemsworth will return as Thor, Brett Goldstein as Hercules, India Rose Hemsworth as Love, Tessa Thompson as Valkyrie, Jaimie Alexander as Sif, Waititi as Korg, Russell Crowe as Zeus, Carly Rees as Miek, and Kat Dennings as Doctor Darcy Lewis.
Thor 5 focuses on Thor and Hercules battle. it will be a continuation of Thor: Love and Thunder. The mid-credit of love and Thunder gives a first look at Hercules, portrayed by Brett Goldstein. Zeus orders Hercules to kill Thor. In Marvel comics, One of the more recent fights between the two muscular gods didn’t take place in Thor’s series, but in Herc’s book, The Incredible Hercules. This was during the brief period when Zeus’ son took over The Incredible Hulk comic from Big Green. It’s another light-hearted story, where we saw Herc use Thor’s armor to masquerade as the Son of Odin. He even borrowed his father’s lightning bolts to sell the idea that he was now the God of Thunder. But when the real Thor found out, he dressed up as Herc, and the pair went toe-to-toe. It was “Hercuthor” vs. “Thorcules.” And it was as delightfully ridiculous as it sounded.
