Matt Reeves has confirmed that the script for The Batman: Part II has been finished.
In a recent interview with EW, Reeves teases that Part II will jump to “a period of time” after the first film and The Penguin series. He says that Oz (Colin Farrell) will become one of the entry points into the movie. Filming will start next year.
Reeves said, “Oz does become one of the entry points into the movie. I can’t tell you where it goes from there, except to say that we’re super excited about it.”
Speaking to Collider, Reeves says he isn’t sure if Greig Fraser will be returning as cinematographer for The Batman: Part II. Reeves hopes the timing will work out for Fraser’s return but hasn’t reached that point in planning yet. He loves working with Fraser and considers him the best.
Reeves said, “I don’t know yet. I certainly hope that the timing will work out for that, but I actually don’t know. We’re not to the place where we know that yet. I hope that’s the case because I just love working with him. I think he’s the best. Actually, he was a little bit involved in the series, too, because I said I wanted to make sure the DNA was the same as we went off and found our own visual voice.”
