Following the theatrical release, Ti West‘s ‘MaXXXine‘ digital/VOD release date has been confirmed. The third installment in West’s X film series — and a direct sequel to X (2022) — will be available to buy or rent on digital HD platforms such as Amazon Prime Video, iTunes, Vudu, and Google Play Movies & TV on August 13, 2024.
In ‘MaXXXine,’ Mia Goth reprises her role as Maxine Minx, an adult film actress who survived a deadly encounter in the previous film, ‘X,’ set in the 1970s. ‘MaXXXine’ continues the story a decade later, with Maxine now a rising star in the adult film industry. However, her newfound success is overshadowed by the emergence of a serial killer targeting young starlets in Hollywood. As the terror unfolds, it threatens to expose secrets from Maxine’s past.
‘MaXXXine’ has received a 78% score on Rotten Tomatoes, 7/10 on IMDb, and 83% on Fandango.
Directed by West and is the third and final installment in the X trilogy, following X and Pearl. The film also stars Elizabeth Debicki as a film director, Moses Sumney, Michelle Monaghan as an LAPD detective, Bobby Cannavale as an LAPD detective, Lily Collins, Giancarlo Esposito as an agent for the adult film industry, and Kevin Bacon as a private investigator.
The film is produced by Goth, Jacob Jaffke, West, Kevin Turen, and Harrison Kreiss, with production companies Motel Mojave and Access Entertainment.
‘MaXXXine’ was released in the United States by A24 on July 5, 2024.
